The efficacy of physiotherapy approaches in chronic tension-type headache: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Researchers in Turkey set out to answer a practical question: when pills aren't the whole story for chronic tension-type headache, what does the evidence say about physiotherapy? They searched two major medical databases and pulled together nine randomized controlled trials, the kind of studies that give us the most reliable clues about what actually works. They looked at what mattered most to people living with this condition: how bad the headaches felt, how often they happened, how long they lasted, and the overall impact on daily life. What they found was that three main approaches showed measurable improvements: exercises targeting the neck and shoulders, techniques aimed at relaxing tight muscles, and electroacupuncture.
The effects weren't huge, but they were real enough to show up across multiple studies.
